i can access numerous amounts of websites but the most
frequently visited websites are not getting redirected to
a 404 error webpage. i can briefly see the site then i am
automatically redirected to one particular webpage that
has a 404 error. every time i am redirected it's to the
same page. could someone please help me because i have
ran virus programs and deleted caches and i know it's not
my cable modem because this problem just recently started
and i've been using the cable modem since i first
purchased the computer. if you could give me some insight

I am having the same problem with one of my PCs at work -
Windows XP Pro. I can't go to google.com - it's giving me
the 'Page not found' error message. But I can ping the
site. Even when I do searches from msn.com and yahoo.com,
I am having the 'Page not found' error message. I have
changed the IP address, but it's still not working.

The symptom I saw: the PC's DNS configuration changed to
some address that started with 64.

I released my IP settings and renewed with my DHCP
server. With correct settings in obtained, I am still
having the problem.
Somebody please help if you can!
