Well, I can access the problematic website, but once on
the web site when I try to surf around inside the
site...I get an error message that says my browser has
sent a "bad" request that exceedes the servers'
capacity. Has anyone seen that error message before? It
is a pen pal web site. Have contacted other users and
they are having no problem with the site. Is there
something wrong with my computer? Oh yes, there is a
line on the error message that mentions cookies then
there is a very long number that is about a thousand
digits long.???

It sounds like your computers internet security settings are blocking some
functions of this site you are trying to visit unintentionally.

Open your internet options by opening Internet explorer and at your home
page select tools > options.

On the security tab, click the internet icon, then custom level.

Make sure you have these settings:
Download signed ActiveX controls - enable
Download unsigned activeX controls - enable
Initialise and script activeX controls not marked as safe - prompt
Run activex controls and plug-ins - enable
Microsoft VM - Medium Safety (will not appear on computers pre xp sp1 or
with xp sp1a installed)
Allow Meta Refresh - Enable
Active Scripting - Enable
Scripting of java applets - enable

By applying these settings, you will make your computer a little less secure
but if you believe this site is safe and there is very little hacking or
virus activity, you should be safe. This will apply for all sites you visit.

Watch out for anything labled bonzi buddy, gator or comet cursor. You should
also always read the prompts of any warnings that appear when surfing and if
you dont know what they mean, you should find out by clicking a help button
if possible.

Exceeding the server's capacity usually happens on the other end - not
on yours. For example: A home computer running XP Pro and IIS (the web
server software included with Pro) is limited to 10 concurrent
connections. No idea what the part about cookies is trying to tell you.
Have you contacted the webmaster of this site to find out what's up?
