Unable to access address bar

The address bar has disappeared.
Under View Toolbars the address bar is selected, but it no
longer is visible.

Is there a bug or virus that could have caused this?
Is there a way to hide and unhide it, that is not apparent?
 
To restore the default toolbar layout, follow these steps:
1. Close all instances of IE
2. Open Registry Editor (regedit.exe), browse to the following registry key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\]

3. Delete the "WebBrowser" and "ShellBrowser" sub-keys
4. Close registry editor and restart your computer.
