I'd like to unstall XP pro from my laptop and re-install
ME (selling the laptop).

Can this be done without major problems?

Sure, it's easy if you have the WinMe CD. Go here and get a bootdisk.
www.bootdisk.com and format using FAT32
with the disk. Then just go ahead and reinstall WinMe.

Greetings --

If you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup the
old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, then all
you need do is boot into Safe Mode and Start > Control Panel >
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions _must_ be met for the
uninstall option to be available.
