I recently purchased a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro. The card is great except for one
thing I play with my MS 2004 Flight simulator a lot and once in a while when
I launch the program it reboots, at other times when I am in the program
and switch airplanes it will kick me out and reboot. My PC has 1GB of ram,
180GB hard drive, and an Intel Motherboard with 800mhz fsb that support
Hyper threading technology. Has anyone experienced this problem and
corrected it. Oh and this did not happen with my old Nvidia 4400.
Thanks
Ed

Hi Edward,

What are you using instead of the 4400? If the answer is
that you're using the onboard video, install the card again.

Your system is most likely restarting as a result of a STOP error.
To stop this behavior and to analyse the error, try the steps in
this article: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers using
the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers

I am using the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro. I no longer have the Nvidia card
installed. I don't get an error message when blacks out but upon rebooting
it state "just recovered from a serious error".

Hi Edward,

Disable auto-reboot in order to see an error message. :-)
(See how in my last post)

Cheers,
Jimmy.
