i installed ultrasound in a test lab enviroment mirroring
as close as possible the live enviroment. everything
installed fine and worked fine. i then installed in the
live enviroment and after a while a alert problem comes up.

msg - failed ultrasound server updates - FRS replica set
not found.

the dfs is working okay. but the ultrasound doesn't seen
to be able to monitor it.

Vincent,

Is that server still a part of the replica set being monitored?

You would see this alert when Ultrasound attempts collection from a server
which isn't a member for the specified replica set. If that's the case, you
would need to sync your topology or wait for Ultrasound to do so before the
list of members for the replica set is updated.

yes. there are two servers are in the replica set being
monitored. the red cross mark are against both the servers
in ultrasound.

the reason we installed the ultrasound is that once in a
while the replication doesn't start replicating in 15 mins
took over 2 hours or so before we saw the file
replicated.

the only things i can think of.

the ultrasound is install on a windows 2000 professional
machine with only user rights. but the tool is started
using the run as command and logging in as domain
administrator. while in the test lab the it was installed
on the test domain controller.

the other is the dfs root. the share name is called drive$
because we don't want users to see the dfs. the dfs is
solely used to keep a backup copy of the data of the main
server incase the main fall overs.
