The UK Government is looking to shed its dependency on proprietary software
Way to go. It looks like some politicians have found a grain or two of common sense at last.
It's difficult for Microsoft to keep pace with a free office suite. Collabora is not selling the UK Government anything, but they are hired to provide technical assistance and support. It's not free, but it's a lot cheaper than paying for licenses and support at the same time.
