Greetings--
You could try the following steps:
1. Press Ctrl+A to select your whole document.
2. Click Tools | Language and associate the selection with UK English.
Spell checking should be working correctly.
Also as a general rule, you could associate the Normal style in all your
documents with UK English. Subsequently, any text associated with the
Normal style would also be automatically associated with UK English.
