I have noticed that the Windows XP UI no longer remains its normal self with
its GUI based buttons but one resembling hte older versions of WIndows. Ctrl
Alt Del now brings me to the 6 button selection instead of directly to the
task manager, there is a username and password field log in, and there is the
drop down log out shut down feature now. To me this looks like Windows 98 but
it still says XP Professional. If anyone knows how to restore my UI to its
former completly GUI based self, please reply or e-mail be at
(e-mail address removed)!!!

Classic Mode..

Try this:
Right-click on the desktop and select Properties.
From the dropdown list under Themes, select Windows XP, then click OK
(That will get your look/feel back to Windows XP.)

Right-click Start button and select Properties.
In the subsequent window, select Start menu and then click OK.
(That will make sure you are using the double-bubbly start menu.)

Reboot.

BTW - CTRL+SHIFT+ESC will bring up Task Manager.

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> 'Change the way users log on & off' -> 'Use the Welcome Screen'
