Hopefully the only 12 y.o to install and use Vista

I just noticed the expiry date on this thing (oh the joys of being a twelve
year old) ans now I'm stuck.

Anyone know how much it's gonna cost (round about) and anyway, when it
expires will it mean that you can't access files from a different HD or
something else.

Also, ATM I'm running on below the minimum sys requirements (340mb ram or
something and probably some other things below as well) and I'm wondering
whether the commercially available one will need the minimum (I'm surprised
the beta didn't stop me).

Also also, If I can't get the commercial one or it wont let me upgrade from
beta, would there be anyway I could keep all my programs, shortcuts,
settings and other things that cannot be copied just drag and drop when
going back to XP.

P.S: Would I be able to trick Vista by changing the year to 1950 or
something?

I really need help, especially seeing as Vista will only last less than a
year.

What did you think--Microsoft was going to give you something for free
forever?
Cost will be approximately what XP was--ask your Mom or Dad what they paid.
You usually can't (and wouldn't want to) upgrade from a Beta or RC1 to a
retail install OS.
Trying to change the system date usually results in the "timebomb" coming
due immediately--wouldn't recommend that way!

Vista scales very well to older systems. Much better than XP ever did.
However, memory is likely to be your greatest need. MS says that 512MB is
minimum and recommends 1GB.

When the Beta expires you will not be able to do anything. The system will
not run.

You will not be able to use the Easy Transfer wizard to migrate your files
backwards to XP. You would need to copy your files and settings to storage
and then do a clean installation of XP. If XP came preinstalled on your
computer you might experience some problems recovering to XP.

You sure don't sound like a 12 year old. Hmmmmmm

Now that's what I call understatement!

The philosophy/attitude expressed below reminds me of the people I used to
work with - I miss that prison.

Dude, I don't under estimate you, I was 12 three months ago.

You should have read those type of things since the beggining. I would have
liked to see the look in your face when you realized that it was 5/30/07 and
that Vista had expired.

I suggest you either save your documents to DVD's or buy an external hard
drive. I have a 160gb one, and it has 19.9 left. There is all my backed up
stuff along with thousands of pictures and videos. I would recomend removable
storage because it doesn't get damaged and since 12-year-olds don't know how
to take care of stuff, you might just misplace them. Good Luck.

I wouldn't worry about what's going to happen next year. Windows Beta 2 CPP
is test software. It will surely crap out before that. And probably eat
all of your data and programs in the process.

And just to heap it all on, RC1 will be available in a few months, and
hopefully will be a little more scalable, a lot more stable and a lot more
inclusive of hard ware drivers. Why would you want to continue using 5384
when RC1 will be available shortly?

LOL!

I think the gadget/gizmo gene in the X chromosome is responsible for this...
