Still trying to understand and figure things out here.............

This new machine I built has 2 7200 rpm harddrives on EIDE channel 1,
and windows reports that they are using UDMA 5.

EIDE channel 2 has a CD writer and a DVD writer on it, and windows
reports that they are using UDMA 2...

Does this sound like they are configured correctly?

JM (still confused, but getting less so)

UDMA modes are related to transfer speeds.. HDD's transfer data very much
faster than cd drives and are, therefore, are allocated a higher UDMA..
