HI,

i have an external 2.5" ubs hard drive, it was working well and suddenly is
not recognized by any pc, if i go to the disk manager it doesn't show the
drive, but if i go to the device manage in the hard drives i can see the pc
hard drive and USB DEVICE, when i check in the device properties in volume
the status is unreadable.

i tried to restore the data on it with stellar phoenix recovery software, it
recognize the drive but is telling me that is heavy corruptes, and norton
disk doctor is telling me that it doesn't recognize the disk type.

any suggestions how can i recover the data in the drive, there are very
important files there.

Boot to xp cd,recovery,in recovery type:CHKDSK E: /R E: being the usb
external.
/R attempts to repair the hd.Also, one can download the drive checker utility
from the mfg web site, the MS-DOS version, test the drive....

Well Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software has worked
perfectly well for me, recovering almost 90% of my data back. Stellar
Phoenix RAW file recovery recognizes & recovers more than 300 file
types including documents, spreadsheets, web content & images.
Download the demo version from: http://www.stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htm
Demo shows the preview of the recovered data.

But as an employee of Stellar Phoenix, you're bound to say that.
