When an application modifies the standard browser setting:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\open\command
The Internet Explorer will detect it and if you want to
switch back to IE, the registry modifications set by
IE will only take place in the VirtualStore. So it looks
like the IE is not able to claim the standard browser
settings back.
