typing problems

hi,

I'm having a problem when I type. I just re"installed
Win2k and now I can't "e for ë / 'e for é / "u for ü / 'c
for ç / "i for ï (see re"installed) etc.etc. I want to know
where you can set the properties to repair this function,
so I don't have to use the ALT-combinations anymore.

- What key do you expect to press when you want ü?
- What keyboard layout is active on your PC?
- What keyboard layouts have you loaded?

i want ü on my screen after i type in first a " and then a u (so "u)
instead of ALT 129. same for 'e => é etc.

You must load the appropriate keyboard layouts, e.g. German or
French.

Your words suggest that you multi-posted your message. Please note
that this is greatly frowned upon, because it wastes everybody's time.
If you want a larger audience to read your message then put several
newsgroups into the address field, separated with a semicolon. This
way, everybody will see everybody else's reply.
 
it worked! thanks for your advice. i'm sorry that i posted this
message in different groups, i did not know it was inappropiate, i'll
remember it next time. bye!

it didn't work immediately, but after a bit configuration it worked
for my keyboard with input language English (US) and keyboard
layout/IME English International. tnx again
