A few days ago IE started acting all weird. I post on a
lot of car message boards and lately when I go to type a
message on them IE has been very very laggy. Laggy like I
would go to type out a paragraph and it would type out a
few words and then freeze and then 30 seconds after i'm
done typing it would all pop in. It's very annoying and
i've tried everything to fix it. Defragged my hard drive,
downloaded all the windows update updates, still nothing.
I'm running a P3 800 512 megs of ram, 40 gig hardrive,
and 1024/512 ADSL, but it's been perfect up to a few days
ago and I don't know what it is. If it makes any sense as
i'm typing this message it isn't laggy at all, it only
seems to be in things like google, and message boards
where they use CGI and perl and all those different
codes. Also, right now going under windows task manager
it shows my CPU usage as right up near 100%, which
doesn't seem right for me just using the internet with an
800 MHZ computer! Any help would be much appreciated!

1. IE Tools>Internet Options>General>Accessibility>User style sheet> uncheck
anything here. [Hi, Mike!]

2. This may be the affect of CoolWebSearch hijacker.

Dealing with Hijackware

These days most of us are recommending HijackThis to identify and assist in
the removal of these bad guys. Post your files to the forum mentioned on
the first URL above. If you cannot access the page to download HijackThis,
use this link:

CoolWebSearch Chronicles & Shredder

If you find you need CoolWebSearch Shredder, use this link:
http://216.180.252.218/~spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/cwshredder.zip
(Get a fresh copy of CWS Shredder before each use. It's updated
frequently.)

3. Update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From now
on, do both once-a-day.
