Hi forum, I want to upgrade the ram on my pc. the ram that is currently in
it is 512mb pc2700 ram. so my question is does that mean that the rams fsb
is 333mhz, and also will I have to install pc2700 ram in they other slot or
can you use a higher speed ram like pc3200. thanks.

yea, 2700 is 166mhz fsb speed (333 double data rate)... so it all
depends on what your fsb is. if it's 166 there's no reason to get any
faster ram than 2700 because it will be running at the lower speed
anyway. especially if you are going to add to the existing 2700 stick.

PC2700 = 333 Mhz. You can also use PC3200, but it will run at 333 Mhz. The newer, faster memory might not work if the chip density is too high e.g. the motherboard might work with a 8 chip DIMM, but not a 4 chip DIMM.
