typeface missing in job, turned into squares

I have updated a standing word file

The mark was on page 1 of the file of 15 pages

The text on pages 2 to 15, rhen turned into squares on the screen and when printed

I have looked in options but cannot find any way for the text to change back into Times

I am using word 2000, but saving as word 97

Any ideas on how to change this text back? as it has to be printed very soon.
 
Select the text, then select a font that you do have from the font list.

or Redefine the style to use a valid font.

or Use Search and replace to look for text with the invalid font and replace
with a valid one.

Then again, maybe your document got corrupted changing from unicode to
ascii, in which case you might need to go back to a back-up copy.
