When I type a sentence or a paragraph in Excel, then I
noticed I made a mistake or want to change something how
do I insert or type over just the one thing I want to
change and not the whole sentence?

when you highlight the cell, you will see the entire
contents in the formula bar accross the top of the page.
simply click on the part of the text within this that you
want to change, then type away!

or if its enabled, simply double click the cell you are
editing to allow you to make changes.

hope this helps

Hi Brenda
try clicking in the formula bar (or hit F2 to get there) and move the
cursor to the desired position

There are two ways you can do this. First is by using your "formula bar". This should show what's in your cell. You can click in there and make whatever edits you wish

Another solution is to click on the cell and then hit the F2 key. This should put you in "edit mode"

also, if you have the option to ' edit directly in cells ' checked i
tools -> options, you could just double click the cell. but i lik
the f2 (keyboard shortcuts are much faster)
