I've been trying to get my computer to where I can type in Japanese
I've already installed files for East Asian Languages and been able to go to Japanese sites and read
When I try to install the keyboard layouts in Japanese however, error occurs saying that windows could not properly load the japanese-japanese input system(MS-IME2002)keyboard layout
any tips?

Other than KB article (Search for IME2002 at MS) you'll have to contact MS for
an answer to that.

I'm glad (I think ...) to see I'm not alone in my support for international support. I've got XP Home and I am unable to find any of the Japanese language options / IMEs that work.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd sure appreciate it ... I've downloaded and attempted to use the following -

ie_ja
imejpn
JAMONDO
msjaime

Thank you !

Japanese language uses three formats. Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. These
require two keystrokes for each character. There are approximately 18,000
characters so a single keyboard stroke just won't do it. You need to buy a
complete Japanese version of XP.

I faced the same problem :"windows could not properly load the
Japanese". Before Apr 2003, my office computer system was 2000
Chinese. At that time I was able to type Japanese in office computer by
using MS IME2000. After that my office computer system was changed to
be English Version. Then I met the problem. The keyboard is still the
same one. Many experts tried to solve the problme, but all failed.
JAMONDO is only for windows 95 and 98. Windows 2000 can not use it.
IMEJPN is unable to be installed in 2000 system. It requires XP
system.

At home, I installed windows 2000 many times, each time, I could
install Japanese input successfully.
