I just completed a conversion from Netware Groupwise to
Exchange 2000 and Outlook 2002. All the Address Books
converted correctly. I have been trying to get the "Type
Ahead" or "Auto Complete" function to work on all
addresses in the Global and Personal Address Books. I
know that it works after an individual sends the first
email to the recipient, but I need to get it to work for
all addresses. I know there is a cache file NK2 on the
workstations, but don't know how to get data into it,
short of emailing every person in the address book from
every workstation with Outlook. Can anyone help. ?

You have misunderstood autocomplete. It only works off the NK2, not your
address book.

it might, but for what purpose? why not let the cache build itself as the
users send mail? if you have a large cache with hundreds or thousands of
addresses users don't need it could become unstable.

I understand that, but I was hoping I could populate the
NK2 file with the contents of the address book, maybe with
a program or something. I thought maybe I could stop the
SMTP service on Exchange, Send a global message to all
address book entries and then slear the SMTP virtual
server and restart the service. Would this work?
