Txt not available

I have a problem with access 97! I know its outdated but i need to learn how
to use it for my studies! I am trying to import a text file into a table!
I've gone to Get external data then import to import the file! My problem
comes in the FILES OF TYPE drop down box- I cannot select .txt (or anything
that can open a text file)! Ive installed all the necessary add-ins and
selected everything in the installation! I really need to know how i can
overcome this quickly as i need to learn access/visual basics in the next 2
weeks!

Reregister the dll files

Start Run
regsvr32 msexcl35.dll
regsvr32 msxbse35.dll
regsvr32 mspdox35.dll
regsvr32 mstext35.dll
