I can't send messages

[ would like to import a short list from excell or access
to use to mail a 1 page attachment.]

I have configured Outlook as stipulated by my ISP and am
able to Rx messages. I have an old evalutaion copy of
Euodra which I tried and it is able to send messages. Is
there something esoteric about Outlook that I am
overlooking? Is there a .dll file I may need to reinstall?

SMTP is configured the same way in both programs as is
POP3.

Thank you Roady,

I believe that I have identified the problem as the server
requires authentication and Outlook 97 (8.02.4212) doesn't
provide the option "my server requires authentication" in
its configuration procedure.

Outlook Express (6.00.2800.1123) does allow the user to
select the option "My server requires authentication" so
we will use OE until we upgrade.

Thank you again Roady.

[I identified the problem by tracking down the meaning
of the error messages received when configuring OE.
Here is part of the OE error message - -
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 sorry, that
domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)',
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error
Number: 0x800CCC79 ].

Roady thank you again.

I should have asked is there a fix, patch, or work around
for Outlook 97 (8.02.4212)? Is the only solution
purchasing a newer version of Outlook?

Not sure, there are additional updates available (you are not fully patched)
so it might have been added in one of those updates.
