O

ordinary user

I have two problems and would appreciate some help.

Problem #1:

When I start Windows, upon booting a box appears on my screen with the
following message. Nothing happens until I ckick a button that says "OK"

Windows cannot find 'C:/Documents'. Make sure you typed the name correctly
and then try
again. To search for a file, click the Start button and then click Search.

I have to click OK for my computer to keep booting. How do I make this go
away?

Problem #2:

When I start Windows, and at some other times, I a box pops up. The title
bar reads: Windows - No Disk

Below that, there is a message that reads:

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive.

Below that, there are three buttons. They read, Cancel, Try Again, Continue.

I must click Cancel between 10 and 20 times during the boot process or
everything will freeze.

How do I stop this from happening?

Thanks for any help.

For # 1 you could try going to Start>Run type: msconfig click Ok
and select Startup Tab. Look in the right pane for
any entry that has Document in it. If there, Uncheck

For # 2 you could try disabling autostart or autoplay for your Cdrom
drives.

To Disable autoplay, completely, on all drives, in Windows XP Pro
1) Click Start, Run and enter GPEDIT.MSC

2) Go to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System.

3) Locate the entry for Turn autoplay off and modify it as you desire.

You can also go here and download TweakUI for WinXP. That has a
feature that will allow you to disable autoplay.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Scroll down the rt column until you see TweakUI.
