Two temp files created

I just installed Microsoft AntiSpyware and have a
question. It created two temp files (DC45CA.TMP &
DC6396.TMP). Since they are temp files I tried to delete
them and only could by turning off the anti spyware
program. Once I activated it again they were recreated.
What is the purpose of these two files?

As the name suggests, the .tmp file is a placehold/workfile for the AS
client. The bug is that the client doesn't clean up the old ones when
creating a new one, leaving behind a bunch of those .tmp files over time.

Hi,

I concur with 'Sky', however the two TMP files that will
not delete if AntiSpyware is active change their file
name with each recreation. If AntiSpyware is shutdown
they will delete without problem, recreating again when
it is launched.

If needing to delete the files in the TEMP directory, eg.
to investigate other issues on the computer, it is
easiest to shut down AntiSpyware first, then select all
files in the TEMP directory and delete them, otherwise
the two active files will just make the process more
inconvenient as one has to isolate them, with an unknown
file name. Restart AntiSpyware afterwards.

Kind Regards,
