Two Sticks of 512 RAM but only shows one

QDI Motherboard with two slots for RAM. If I put both in, only one shows
with Everest and My Computer/Properties/General. If I boot up with either
one, it works fine but with both, sometimes it has a hard time booting up
and other times it boots right in but only shows 512 RAM. Is it the second
slot of the motherboard?

Thanks,

Cody

What model of QDI motherboard is it?

Older motherboards might not support 1GB RAM.

It isn't that old, it's a KuDoz 7G-6AL and it does support it. I got it
sorted out by unseating and reseating the RAM or at least I think I got it
sorted out :-)

Ah, right. Probably dirty contacts in the second slot and you've cleaned
them by pulling the dimm in and out an few times.

That would explain it. It's still doing fine, knock on wood.
