Two sound cards

My new motherboard has a Realtec ACL655 chip. I use a Phillips Aurilium USB
sound
card. I did a re-install of Windows XP pro over my system.

Checking Sounds and Audio Devices Properties, I see a "Device Usage" drop
down menu which says "Use this device (enable)" or "Do not use this device
(disable)".

I enabled the Aurilium Sound Agent 2 driver and disabled the Realtec AC97
Audio in Sound and Audio Device Properties. Is that what I should have
done?

You will also need to "disable" the Realtec sound chip in the motherboard
BIOS. Windows XP could re-activate the Realtec sound card when you least
expect it.

Y.

That makes sense. I didn't even think to look in the BIOS.
