ON PRINTING PREFFERENCE; THERE IS NOT AN TWO SIDED
OPTION, HOW COME? HOW DO I GET IT BACK? RECENTLY UP
GRADED TO XP. AM RUNNING AN (HP DESKJET672C).

Greetings --

Two-sided printing is entirely a function of the print drivers,
and has little or nothing to do with the operating system. Contact
HP, or visit the web site, to see if WinXP-specific drivers have been
provided for your printer. Knowing HP, however, I'm afraid that
you're probably going to be out of luck; HP has amply demonstrated a
complete lack of interest in providing support for their older
printers.

Also, please unstick your CapsLock key. Posting in all caps, as
you have done, is the Usenet equivalent of shouting, and is considered
very rude by many people. More importantly, posting in all caps makes
the post very hard to read, reducing your chances of getting help.

FinePrint v5.3 works great. Does booklet printing as well as many other printing options.

| HP decided not to write updated drivers for this very discontinued printer.
| Microsoft included drivers that enable you to print, but may not have the
| advanced functions you were used to. I have heard from many people that the
| software available at www.fineprint.com will enable you to regain these
| functions.

Philip,
As stated by the other members of this fourm; all caps, in my books, and
all of IRC, is considered very rude :D.

I have the same printer and when I want to use 2-sided printing, I simply
just change the print setting in Word, or whatever program I'm using to
print only the odd sheets, then flip the paper in the right direction, so
that when it goes under the printheads (ink cartridges) it prints in your
desired method.

It does seem like a lot of work just to save some paper......well it is a
lot of work to save some paper, but if that is how you want to use your
printer, it does work :D

Only one bad thing about printing on both sides as pointed out by myself
and all of my teachers; if the light isnt exactly hitting the paper the
right way, you see through it, leaving the reader having a rough time.

Mike,

This isn't IRC, it's Usenet. ;o)
