I am new to Vista, I have two different smtp accounts for out going mail, one
works fine, the other does not, both receive emails no problem, I have double
checked the set up and it appears to be OK, I had no problems like this with
Outlook, I am stumped, help please.

We need to see your error messages
and know which antivirus software you are using?

In general, you can only send through the SMTP server of the ISP to which
you are connected. You can usually use that SMTP server in the properties
of the other account.

Hello Julian

This is the message on the mail error pop up:

The host 'smtp.universalclinics.com' could not be found. Please verify that
you have entered the server name correctly. Account:
'mail.universalclinics.com', Server: 'smtp.universalclinics.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

I have tried changging this to my other stmp that works, but it stil does
not function?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Paul

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.

There is no server named smtp.universalclinics.com.
According to that domain's DNS, it should be mail.universalclinics.com.
