Will disabling "Automatically Search for Network folders and Printers" in XP
in the Folder options speed up the login process?

Also I read that
HKey_LocalMachine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace
and deleting the second string will speed up network browsing. Has anyone
used this and found improvement in their browsing?

I don't believe the "automatic" will make a difference in login or
browsing. The auto stuff happens in the background after login is
done. I always turn it off though. It's okay for a two or three
systems in a home but not in a larger environment.

The registry item is intended to ignore printers on remote systems? I
don't know if that would speed things up, but again, I'd be surprised.
When you're first browsing systems it's not presenting you all that
detail anyway so I don't think it would wait for those details before
showing that a system is out there.
