People,
I use Virtual PC on my MacIntosh but these questions are independent of
VPC and relate strictly to Windows.
1. When I start up the PC under Windows XP Pro, I always get a message
window saying that new hardware has been found. I know it is talking
about the printer and because it is a virtual machine I do not want to
install or do anything else with new hardware. Is there a way to prevent
Windows XP Pro from always presenting me with the new hardware found
window when I start up? Just for reference, Windows XP Home doesn't do
this.
2. When I activate the My Documents folder from the desktop, a good
third of the My Documents window width (left side) is taken up by groups
of icons with titles (e.g. Make a new folder, Publish... etc.). Is there
a way to eliminate these items and give the full window width to
displaying my files? In contrast, Windows XP Home simply has a few large
icons for other places on the left side and this is acceptable. Is it
possible to get that same format under XP Pro?
