1) Install it/share it off the server using a standard TCP/IP port.
2) Plug the DSL router into your router/firewall, and point all servers &
workstations at the LAN IP of the firewall as default gateway

Have a network HP 4550N printer, on its own IP (using HP 610 NIC). what is
better

- add it to the switch, using the hp cd to make it a share off the server,
or
- add it to one of my three NIC's directly?? i.e. one = internal network,
one printer, maybe one for external network?

Can't find much on network printer setup's?

Also, should I be hooking my dsl modem into the router then switch, or going
directly into win 2k server through NIC? Use DNS?

thoughts?

Your server just needs 2 nics to get the whole thing working.
Attach the router to your second nic. The gateway on the second nic
(external nic) should point to the router-IP.
Make sure the IP-scheme on the external nic is different from the internal
nic.
Make sure your internal nic is on top in the binding order and that the
gateway is blanc. DNS on both internal and external nic should point to your
server-IP. The DNS-numbers of your ISP should be put in your DNS-server.
Attach the printer to the switch, put it on a static IP (make sure it is
excluded in your DHCP-scope) and install the printerdrivers.
