Well, I confess I've never seen "View Directions" on the PowerPoint 2007
View tab. I wonder if this is something that is enabled when you have
right-to-left languages enabled?
Oh, but I did find a way to access them!
Go to Office Button | PPT Resources | Customize. Choose to select from
"all commands" at the top. Then find Left-to-Right and add it to your
quick access toolbar.
Now that tool will appear on the QAT (which is above the ribbon by
default -- it has a save and print button on it, I think). Click it to
change the pane to the left.
If you want, you can add the Right-to-Left button to your QAT, too, so you
can switch back and forth.

Thanks Echo and Hazell. I am using office2007. I cannot find the left to
right. However, I did resolve the slide number issue.

I just had the same issue myself yesterday so this is fresh in my mind.
You
go to "view" tab and then "View directions" and hit "Left to right"
To not see the page numbers go to "View" tab again. Select "Header and
Footer" then on the "slide" tab deselect "slide number" tick box.
Good luck
:
I observed that my presentation has slidenumbers and how do I remove
them?
In normal view the slide and outline window is on the right side of
the
screen how do I move it to the LHS?
Thank you
