I am brand-new to FP, but will be updating our non-profit
website. I am experiencing two problems. 1)When I try to
open FP in Internet Explorer, I get a popup to logon with
acct & password. When I do this, the popup keeps
returning without the password. 2)If I hit cancel, I am
able to edit, but the page name, instead of being named,
is called "default.htm" and I can't save any of my work
to the site, only my hard drive.

I would appreciate any light anyone might shine on my
darkness. Thanks.

BTW, I have Windows XP.

You don't open FP in IE.

You open FrontPage and then select File > Open Web
Then, to open the "server or live" version you would
enter http://domainname.com

Thanks. I'm getting the hang of these forums.

I did as you suggested and still have the same problem -
the popup keeps coming back like an unwanted boyfriend.
I've checked my firewall to make sure I have given FP
access. Any other suggestions?

Are you entering the username and password
for the server account??

It will be different than your Windows/FrontPage
username and password.
