Two Personal Folders

I just bought a new computer and reinstalled Outlook XP. After activation,
when opening it I now have two copies of Personal Folders opening up. One
has the little house icon next to it and one has teh folder box next to it.
Upon opening, both were exact copies of one another. Now all my new mail is
going into the one with the house next to it, which is fine. When I try to
close the other "Personal Folders" I get an error that says "The operation
failed. An object could not be found".

I've tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling it but I think there is a
registry entry somewhere that is telling it to open both of these. Can
anyone help me get rid of the copy that isn't being used?

Thank you

you might probably need to do some jugglery to set this right.
first set the default mail delivery location to your mailbox instead of PST
folder.
then, try and close the other personal folder.

if this doesnt work, you may need to create a new personal folder, set that
as the default mail delivery location
and move the reqd folders/mails frm the old ones onto this new folder &
remove the other unwanted personal folders.

The quickest way to rid yourself of the second copy is to create a new mail
profile in Control Panel.
