I've just upgraded laptops, in the process, moving from
Outlook 2002 to Outlook 2003.
I copied the .pst file over and am able to receive email
into it just fine. However, in Outlook 2003, on the left
hand side, two personal folders are shown. One access my
normal email folders. The second doesn't access anything.
Just clicking on it produces the error "the set of
folders could not be opened". Right clicking on it and
choosing "close personal folders" produces the error "the
operation failed: an object could not be found".
Clicking File / Data file management shows just the
regular personal folders file and path that is already
working. No second "personal folders" path or file is
shown.
However, in the screen to manage email accounts, in the
lower left, two "personal folders" are shown for
delivering mail to. However, no ability to delete the
second one can be found.
I've run scanpst.exe on the pst file just to see if that
didn't help. It didn't.
I've uninstalled Outlook 2003 and reinstalled it. That
didn't change the situation.
I suspect that a file exists someplace that referenced
that two files exist or a registry entry perhaps.
Sure could use the help!!
Thanks
