Two Outlooks on one Computer?

I just bought a DELL 510 and used AlohaBob to transfer files from my old
computer to my new.

My old computer used Windows 98.

AlohaBob transfered the Outlook Express (I wanted to do this to transfer
Contacts, Favorites, etc.) over to my new computer as well as a shortcut
launch icon. Before the transfer I loaded Microftsoft Office 2003 on my DELL
so it has Microsoft Outlook 2003.

I can open up both versions of the Outlooks, but for some reason I can't get
incoming e-mails for the Microsoft 2003 version. I can send e-mails (like
this one). In the old version I can do both.

What I would really like to do is get rid of the old version and use the
2003 version of Microsoft Outlook.

Not sure what the exact fix should be or what the exact problem is. Does
anyone know how I can uninstall the old version w/o affecting the 2003
version?

First, Outlook and Outlook Express are complete distinct applications.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and Windows and Outlook is a
part of the Office suite of packages.

You cannot "get rid" of Outlook Express.

If you have any error messages, please post their exact text. Describe
exactly how you configured the mail account(s) in Outlook and what type of
account it is. State exactly what you've tried so far to correct the
problem. State any errors from Even Viewer that appear to be Outlook
related.

Aloha Brian,

Thanks for the info.

I got so frustrated I restored my computer to the original state when I
received it, so now I just have Microsoft Outlook 2003 and no Outlook Express.

However, I still can't get incoming mail (even after setting up via a
wizard, etc.). I can send e-mails, but can't receive. I have Outlook
Express on my old computer and can do both.

Any suggestions?

Something in your configuration is incorrect.

Brian,

You were right. I needed to configure Outlook to automatically retrieve
new messages under the Tools menu.

1. Send/Receive
2. Send/Receive Settings
3. Define Send/Receive Groups
4. Select the group that contains the e-mail account that you want to
regularly check. Usually under "All Accounts"
5. Under Setting for group "group name", Select the "Schedule an automatic
send/receive every x minutes" check box
6. Enter a number from 1 minute to 1440 minutes
7. Click Close
8. On the Standard toolbar click Send/Receive. (Only needs to be done once).
