I have a XP sp-1 installed on C: and then I installed sp-2 on d: .
For few days everything was right .When I opened my pc after afew days i got
a message saying
invalid boot.ini file
Booting from C:windows
Then it opened XP with sp-1.
now i cannot go to sp-2
please tell me what will be correct boot.ini file for me.

I have also tried reinstalling from my xp cd's . I had changed my boot
priority to my CD drive though I dont get a message saying
Press any key to boot from Windows....
and it boots from c:\windows

Hi,

Remove all boot devices in the system BIOS except for the CD drive to force
a CD boot, then boot the WinXP CD and load the Recovery Console by hitting
'r' when first prompted to repair the system. Logon to the C: installation
using the (not "an") administrator account password. From the prompt, delete
the existing boot.ini (del c:\boot.ini), then build a new one by running
bootcfg /rebuild.

I had a Xp CD and thought that two Xp's would be better. Even if one broke
down I could use another. I got the second one upgraded
