These are not really problems, but they bot bother me. On one of my
computers that runs XP Home edition, I have two odd problems that do not
occur on the others.

1.) In Windows Explorer: Any time I start Windows Explorer it begins by
showing the root directory of the "C" drive, rather than My Documents. How
do I get it to behave like all the others and desplay the contents of My
Documents.

2.) When a CD is put into the CD drive, the computer seems to ignore it,
rather than running the autoexec files or beginning to play the music. What
needs to be re-set in order for it to properly detect and run CD's.

Thanks in advance!

Gary,

You will need to change the Windows Explorer command-line params in properties.

Explorer.exe Command-Line Options for Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=314853

Customize the Windows Explorer Views in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=314853

For the CD-ROM issue:

If you are talking about autorun feature, try Autofix utility:

The Microsoft AutoPlay Repair Wizard scans your computer devices to find defective AutoPlay settings, and attempts to fix those it finds. Download Autofix utility from here:

Gary..

I am not sure how to correct option #1. However, your CD-Rom may not be set for auto-run. I recommend downloading tweakui and changing the necessary options. Unfortunately, I am in the middle of a re-install of XP, so I can't give you specifics

TweakUI may also allow you to fix the Windows Explorer issues you are seeing, however, I cannot be 100% positive. Take it for a test run, and if you don't like TweakUI, don't save any of the changes. You can also use CustomizerXP (search google or yahoo for it). TweakUI can be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows XP site at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/default.as

Hope it helps..

Open explore click on the folder you want default, "My Documents" then exit
out of the program. When you open it again it will be to the my documents
folder.
