I have two odd problems with Windows XP SP3
1) Sometimes (often but not always), when I reboot or just start from off
the computer, when I log in the volume control is turned way up even though
it was down when I turned off or started the reboot. Very annoying
especially if early in the morning or late at night when others are
sleeping.
2) If I check the check box in Control Panel > Keyboard > Hardware >
Standard 101/102- Key or Microsoft natural PS/2 keyboard > Properties >
Power Management > "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby",
It does not always hold the setting. It reverts back to being not checked.
Again not always but frequently.
These two problems are not directly related of course but they seem to be in
a way, since they are both registry settings that for whatever reason they
do not stick. Any ideas on how to prevent these to problems from recurring?
