Right now I have the router setup with DHCP and connected to the switch. All
workstation can access the internet this way.

Would the better setup be to connect directly into the 1st NIC of the server
and have the 2nd NIC cable going into the switch?

Is ISA required if this was the case?

No, this way of connection is ok. Multihoming (2 different ip's on one machine)
of a server can make lot of problems. Especially if it is a Domain controller.
If you like to use both NIC's for redundancy you have to find teaming software,
HP has it as default on there websites.

The question is what kind of server and services are used and what should
your network be used for, because an ISA server is normally a separate member
server and does nothing additional work. So if you give some more info about
that what you like to achive, i think here are enough people they can give
you answers how to setup your network

Well initially i thought of setting up an ISA firewall to be able to block
ports and have some url blocking.

Could you suggest what else we could do to prevent certain websites from
being accessed namely streaming video/ music? At another time we would also
want to limit yahoo messenging to certain hours of the day.

Our server will be used as domain controller, file and printer server.

I was hoping also to use our server as a DHCP server for the primary reason
that I am used to it. As right now I do not know how to view leased
addresses within the cisco 1841 console.

Initially I thought of setting up an ISA for the primary purpose of prevent
certain ports as well as URL blocking and streaming video/ ausio of some
sites.

Could you suggest software that can do the above as well as provide website
tracking? Our internet usage is out of control.

Our server will be used as our domain controller and file and print server.
I was hoping to use it as a DHCP server also as I am more familiar that that
of the CISCO based DHCP.
