I have a machine running W2K Advanced Server, and SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition

The system has two NICs that I would like to bind together to double the bandwidth, is this possible?

Only if the NICs are teaming NICs and the you have teaming software from the
NIC manufacturer. There is nothing native to Windows 2000 that can do this.

.
Thanks for your quick reply! I'll check with Intel.

Out of interest then bearing in mind the server in
question will be hosting SQL Server, if both the NICs are
configured with IP addresses in the same subnet, which NIC
will be used to filter the traffic?
