I do not seem to be able to prevent two 'My Documents' folders opening every
time I start Windows XP Pro.
There doesn't seem to be anything in these registry entries that may be
causing it.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

\RunOnceEx

\RunServices

\RunServicesOnce

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not an MVP, but I'm just trying to help.

Note: This problem can be caused by a Trojan virus.

Suggestion, check your settings here:
Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

In the right pane under Userinit - Change the key that reads:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe
To:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,

And also here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows.
In the right pane, check your settings under Load.

Many thanks Kaylene,
You may not be a MVP but you solved my problem
There were in fact 3 entries under 'Userinit'

Thanks and Regards
