I am using a laptop with a monitor and what I am trying to do is have a
mirror image on both the laptop screen and monitor.
When I use the fn + display keys it go to the other monitor leaving the
laptop blanck or I get the laptop on and just a blue screen for the extra
monitor then I have to drag item over to the monitor. It would be great to
see the same desktop on both the laptop and monitor. I do have the latest
drivers installed for the video card.

Any ideas?

The FN > Display function on most laptops is to switch which display is
used, it is usually not for setting up or managing dual displays. Some
laptops allow for the onboard display and an external display to be enabled
at the same time, some don't. Have you tried setting it up using the Display
applet in Control Panel?

Right click on a blank area on the desktop. Click Properties. On the
window that opens, click the Settings tab. Click the 2 on the two monitors
that show. At the bottom left of that window will be a checkmark in the box
that says "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." Click on the
checkmark to turn it off. Click OK. This should put the laptop's image on
the second monitor.

Let us know if this helps.
