Hi.

I wan to buy a 18inch tft screen and using my iiyama 510 22inch to play
games.
Well thats it..

you can have a game going on one monitor and lets say email/icq open on the
other but the game will lock the mouse in that window if it dont the game
crashes when you click on th email. so the answer is yes in some game that
run in a window they work fine but if its full screen then it needs to lock
the mouse or it charshes

Yes you can, for DirectX games at least.

I have two display adapters running two separate video cards. I can leave
anything I want open on the second display while playing games using the
primary. I use it all the time for monitoring downloads etc. while playing.

It's NOT all gravy though.

If the game is running full screen, it's locked the mouse to the primary
display (e.g. can't move mouse onto second display), as it should. The odd
game I've found that doesn't lock the mouse crashes if you try to access the
second display (e.g. major logic flaws in the code). The only way to access
the second display is to either minimize "the" game for a moment or play it
in a window instead of full screen. Note that not all games "like" being
minimized (Alt-Enter) to the taskbar, many not properly restoring the
display, keyboard and/or mouse etc. when restored to full screen.

Note : OpenGl games never work doing this as OpenGl itself simply doesn't
work with more than one display "enabled" (one of my pet OpenGl peeves)
