How do I disable my second monitor that is connected to my lap top through a
docking station? I need to copy some screen shots for a class that I am
taking and I keep getting both screens. I tried to physically disconnect the
laptop and then the second monitor from the docking station but the laptop
still thinks it has two monitors.

To operate both monitors, try downloading the exhibitor pro from microsoft
WM home page,at downloads, scroll from the player to encoder, its listed at
bottom of page. The utility is specifically for running 2 or more monitors.

Did you even read the post?

Instead of doing all the work of disconnecting monitors, etc. why don't you
use a program that will allow you to select just a portion of the screen and
either save the shot to the desktop or save the shot to a numerically
incrementing file that you have already given the prefix for. The program I
am recommending is free and I use it for screen shots all the time.

Screen Hunter 5.0 from http://www.wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter.htm
is easy to configure to "take over" the PrintScreen key and it can be
configured to capture a user selected (highlighted) area, the default window
or the entire (in your case two) screen.

Hope this helps fix your issue, let us know.
