two modems for one connection simultaneously

is it possible to use two modems to connect to the internet at the same time
so that both the modems will be operating at the same time....... i am
asking this question because when i installed windows 98 it sayed somewhere
in the billboards that use multiple modems to connect to the
internet........... if it is possibe then please tell me how to do that
