Two lines only one connection possible at a time.

I have a Windows 2000 Server with SP4, setup with RAS and
two connected telephone lines. Both lines work and we can
dial in and connect on either line. But once one line is
connected if a user tries to dial in on the other line a
busy signal is returned. This happens no matter which
line is connected through, the second line seems to stop
functioning once the first connection is made. Once the
connection is dropped, both lines open up once again.
Being that I don't know too much about RAS any thoughts on
this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When one line is in use (while the other is not in use) what do you observe
in RRAS Port status? Does it say ports corresponding to both lines as active
(in-use) OR does it say only the ports corresponding to one line as Active?

Thanks for replying Sandeep.

When I check the status, it shows only one line as active,
the other line is still listed as inactive.

Can you check whether you are able to simultaneously use the two modems from
a client perspective i.e. dial out simultaneously from the two modems? Also
what brand modem are you using? This could be an issue with the drivers as
the RRAS correctly lists only one port as active.
Thanks

Good morning Giri,

The modem installed in our server is a Comtrol RocketModem
II 4 port PCI card. We only have lines connected to two
of the four ports though. When I upgraded the server to
W2k Server back in late August of this year I did download
the current drivers from Comtrol for this card. I will
have to check on the dialing out simultaneously though as
I don't know about that.
