Hi,
I have a LAN setup at home conecting two computers. They used to be
connected through ethernet at 100\10 mbps with a long cord. However
because of wiring problems (kids tripping up the wires) I installed a
HomePNA connection through the existing telephone lines. This works
fine for e-mail and surfing the web. However, the problem is that this
connection is very slow (1mbps) and once and a while I need to connect
at high speed (backing up hard drive etc.). I tried connecting both
the ethernet and the homepna at the same time and got a fatal error
blue screen. Is there a way to have both connections working at once,
the computer choosing which one is fastest? Alternatively, how can I
switch manually between the mode of connecting the 2 computers?

Thanks for the help,

Elli

if you don't mind spending a little extra money, you can
get a wireless network and not worry about the HPNA network.

There shouldn't be any problem with using two network adapters.
Download and install the latest driver programs for both of them.

It might help to open the Network Connections folder, disable the
connection that you don't want to use, then enable the one that you do
want to use.
