Hi all,
I had XP installed on my hard drive and recently reformatted the drive and
installed again. Now when I boot-up I get an option to select the operating
system to start and it has WindowsXP listed twice. It's just like I had
another OS such as Linux installed. I deleted everything off the drive and
completely reformatted it so how can I be getting something saying I have
two OS's installed and they are both XP?
I guess I don't know enough about the windows boot process but I could swear
that I deleted the boot partition and everything. Does windows write
something to the bios that says there is another OS installed? As I write
this I had the same issue on a comptuer that had XP home edition installed.
I installed XP proffessional on the same machine, completely reformatting
the HD again and now I get an option to select either XP Pro or XP Home.
Thanks for any help,
