Hi,
I recently tried to upgrade from Vista Basic to Vista Premium but the
activation key didn't work. So I recovered Vista Basic from the windows.old
file but there is still a corrupt version of Vista Premium on my hard disk.
Does anyone know how to remove it?

Just delete the folder it's in

Regarding "...still a corrupt version of Vista Premium ...." - in what way
corrupt? You state the activation key "did not work". When - when you tried
to activate the installation or when entering it as the product key at
installation?

Hi,

Take ownership of the folders and delete them. To take ownership, right
click a folder and select properties. On the security tab click advanced,
and go to the Owner tab and click the button to edit/change it to your
account. Enable the line to propagate to folders and subcontainers, then
click apply. It may take a few minutes to work through. You should then be
able to close up the folder properties and delete it.

I can't log into Vista Premium. It said that it was missing files and was
corrupt. regarding the product key, I typed it in and it said it was invalid
I tried several times to make sure I typed it in correctly but it didn't
work. I did this after installation. I just want to remove Premium.

I did as you said I changed it to the administrator account, which is mine,
but it still said i needed permission.

There are only two accounts to chose from, one with my name and the
adminisrator account. with either of these as the owner I am still unable to
delete the folder. I am a little confused. The account I log into every day
says that I'm the administrator

Hi,

What is the name of the folder you are trying to delete?
